AI compute demand continues to outpace resilient capacity. Aba is a first-mover opportunity in Southeast Nigeria, where power scarcity commands a premium and no Tier III AI facility exists. The 10 MW grid-independent campus targets approximately a 21% unleveraged IRR, while the Georgia facility provides a complementary U.S. anchor and transatlantic AI infrastructure platform.

The same infrastructure that produces investor returns also delivers measurable community benefits. Each campus supports community power, including a 1 MW allocation in Aba and Georgia, together with a cable fiber initiative, skilled employment, and technology transfer. These outcomes are funded by project returns rather than traded against them.

EDTI (Economic Development Tax Incentive) provides an institutional capital structure whose qualifications the projects are likely to meet, supporting the case that they are investment-ready rather than aspirational.

Entrepreneurship and community development

We empower self-employed entrepreneurs to build financially sustainable businesses that solve human needs in their communities. Each successful entrepreneur creates employment for about five other people and improves the socio-economic lives of their families, so each one enhances the lives of roughly 25 people.

Skills acquisition

Knowledge and skills programs focus on producing entrepreneurs: graduates with a drive for problem-solving, self-employment, and financial independence who pair the skills of their trade with real business acumen.

Certification and articulation

Vocational and academic programs are accredited through the US Department of Education and Department of Labor, with professional certifications through recognized US agencies and articulation agreements with regionally accredited institutions in the United States and Africa.

Mission and money on the same build. The returns that make Aba bankable are the same dollars that fund community infrastructure: 1 MW of power delivered to the surrounding community, and a $10M fiber initiative bringing internet to residents at no cost. Development and returns are not a trade-off here. Each data center is the vehicle that delivers both.

Site: 43,000 SF building on a 150–175 acre site in Aba, Abia State, in Southeast Nigeria's commercial capital.
Power: 20 MW solar PV primary + 40 MWh BESS storage + 4×5 MW diesel backup + EEDC grid tertiary. Grid-independent design.
Cooling & resilience: Zero-water air-cooled; 2N double-conversion UPS; 15-minute Li-ion battery bridge; 200,000 gal diesel (14-day autonomy).
GPU-as-a-Service: 3 MW NVIDIA H100 SXM5, refreshing to Blackwell in Year 6. First Tier III AI facility in Southeast Nigeria.
Colocation: 7 MW Tier III colocation at $8.00/W/yr for Nigerian banks, telcos, government, and pan-African AI.
Incentives: Likely to qualify for Nigeria's EDTI (5% tax credit on qualifying capex) · WTO IT duty exemption · IFC/DFC $30M development-finance facility.

Colocation: 7 MW premium Tier III colocation for enterprise and AI tenants across the Atlanta metro market.
Incentives: Federal ITC Section 48 ($21.9M–$36.5M, transferable) · Georgia §48-8-3.2 sales-tax exemption (~$12M) · $35M humanitarian investment deeded to the city at commissioning.

Bankable, not aspirational

Development-finance credibility

The Aba project is structured for institutional and development-finance capital. It is likely to meet the qualifications for Nigeria's EDTI (a 5% annual tax credit on qualifying capital expenditure), and it carries a WTO IT Agreement duty exemption on servers and networking and a $30M development-finance facility from the IFC/DFC. The design targets 99.982% uptime against a grid that averages six to eight hours a day, on a grid-independent power stack ring-fenced from the local utility.

Opportunity USA is raising $365M in equity, debt, and development-finance capital to advance the Aba data center and establish the Georgia anchor campus as the first phase of the platform.
